In Relationship

Hello my dear ones,

Standing here at the airport of Chania I already feel I left Greece. Screaming kids, arguing couples, tired workers and shiny bright lights everywhere gets me the feeling of a no man land.

It's been the third September in a row I come to see my biggest greek lover- Crete.

Like two lovers we found the ways to love each other and accept the harshness of each. The same mosquito doesn't bite as much, the same wind does not confuse me anymore and the same sun does not burn me as much. This island is magical. And I say this even with masses of tourists trying so hard to say the hard evharisto poli, the word for thank you very much in greek.

This island enchants me each time I am here. Like exotic lover full of promises and passionate kisses.

I walk around some days like a complete tripper. Tripping on life and nature. The high mountains that touch the sea, so blue, so warm and so deceiving in innocence. The lush nature around with ocassional palm, avocado or banana tree. The hitch hiking angels offering not only the seat but food and the shelter if needed. Everything is wild and cosy in the same time.

I meet familiar faces, old friends and make some space for new connections. Oh the beauty of travelling!

Like the bird though, sensing the season change, the autumn creeping in, I pack my bag, not forgetting my gold- the olive oil, add extra songs for ukulele and head towards the tropics, with slight side roading to good old England.

I will be few days in the land of tea and beer lovers and then... My other love is calling me back to cover myself in mangos, limes and chillies.

With love and excitement,

Ligita
