Connected to Sark

My dear friends,

Life is treating me good. And the time again flies so quickly!

I can’t wish a better island for this summer. I am so used to no traffic and no street lights that the more I think the less I want to come back to big cities or towns.

I met very cool guy with who I spend most of my free time. We do many exciting things together, went for water skiing, caving, swimming, boat trips, I went twice to visit him in Guernsey, life feels good J

Talking about Guernsey. It is a beautiful island as well, has amazing long sandy beaches, beautiful houses, little streets. Few days ago me and Dominic went to this amazing museum- Victor Hugo’s house because he lived in Guernsey and he wrote most of his books there. If you ever have a chance to visit it, do it!! The man has such an impressive imagination! His house is really surreal!

Apart from going to Guernsey for few days I haven’t left Sark island. I feel really like at home here; got strong connection with this beautiful island. And there are so many exciting things to do, especially when it’s sunny.

I opened my swimming season as well, so from time to time I am going skinny dipping or just simple swimming.

July seems exciting to wait for. First weekend we gonna have 3 days Sark folk festival which I am sure will be amazing. Another weekend we gonna have sheep racing. If I will be free for few hours of work I will make sure to make some pics!

Love you all,

Be happy guys!

Victor Hugo loved converting things into another ones. He used to go to second hand shops, get some used furniture and make it into something different. This one is a table converted to some painting.

What to Do in Sark

Hello my dears,

My first post in May.

My life here in Sark goes on, and goes on very interesting I must say. All these views, smells and little adventures make me feel alive. I am completely used to this island rhythm. Slow walks, no street lights, no people who are rushing, no shops or any places where I felt trapped with consumers rather than people. I can breathe, my minds are clear and my heart is beating with love around.

People who say there is nothing to do in Sark, must look more around them.

Walking. Sark has an amazing coast line, there are so many hidden little paths through the fields with the stunning views.

Cycling. Friend of mine borrowed me a bike and I must say cycling here in Sark is very special because there are loads of hills and little roads with rocks which makes your cycling more like mountain biking.

Caving. Wow, I have never thought that caving can be so interesting. Sark has many caves all around the island; some that you have to swim through, some reachable only from the boats, some walkable on a low tide. I have been in 3 caves so far and wow, the fact that those caves are reachable only on a certain time of day is very exciting.

Coasteering. New sport activity, which includes cliff jumping, swimming, scrambling and caving. It is amazing, outdoor people will love it. The highest cliff we jumped from was 10 metres height!!!

Fishing. There are a lot of lobsters, crabs and fishes around the island and you can just go fishing from the harbour! I can’t wait to try!

Diving. You must have your own wetsuit though. I have heard people are going to dive here and some even catch scallops and then have delicious exotic dinners J

Kayaking. Again, Sark has amazing caves so it is not just simple kayaking in the sea but also getting into the caves.

Horse riding. Just need to meet friendly locals ;)

And there are many more little activities which occupies me in the free time. I am telling you, Sark has a lot of things to offer we just have to know how to appreciate all these surroundings.

Keep yourself active and enjoy longer days, shorter nights!

Greetings to my dear ones,

Ligita
