Ciao tutti!
When I travel by plane I often miss out on that wonderful
feeling of changing landscapes slowly and observing little changes that each
100km brings. So when I sat in the train to leave my sweet home in Austria for
a little adventure I could sense my excitement was growing with each new name
at different train stations.
Suddenly I was not in my valley anymore, suddenly I was not
even in Austria anymore. I entered a new country-my sweet and beloved Italia.
The country that feeds my belly, soul and heart. Have I ever mentioned how much
I love Italy?
Travelling by land connects me with old time adventurers,
yes they probably travelled way more romantic ways-horses or carriages- but
still I feel way more connected with them instead of waiting in the sterilized,
duty free parfumes sprayed airports.
The landscapes suddenly started to change and from my used
view of majestic mountains I was getting used to see little hills with still
very green trees and miles and miles of food everywhere. Apples, figs, kiwis,
my eyes seemed not to get enough. All summer, the only vegetable that was
growing around was chard (which was used in so many ways, if you want some
recipes, don’t hesitate to ask!).
People faces started to change, more and more dark looking
beauties were entering the train. And as an observer I was just watching
everybody. Listening to the beautiful Italian language and watching each person
with so much interest. When you spend all the summer somewhere remote you tend
to forget about the rest of the world. I forgot how many different races exist
in this world.
When I arrived in my first bigger city Trento, I was
literally staring at everybody. So many beautiful people around!
My time in Italy was spent with my lovely friends,
eating delicious food, hiking around, feeling the Italian vibe- la dolce vita- the sweet life. Ohh and it felt sweet. Italy, will you ever let me live here?
And now in front of me 48 hours ferry ride to a new world
for me- Morocco.
Assalamu alaykum
Ligita :)
